Millions of Europeans and a worldwide fan base will be watching this annual event broadcast live on television and the internet from the Telenor Arena in Oslo, Norway. 39 countries will take part in the contest won last year by Norway’s Alexander Rybak.
Thousands of meters of flame retardant fabrics, from basics like black Molton CS masking drapes to some of the most innovative special effects textiles will provide a backdrop for the exciting performances. Show hosts will also be reporting from the venue’s green room which will be covered in ShowTex dimensional flame retardant fabric.
ShowTex’s Marjon Franken explains how they got involved in Eurovision 2010, “ShowTex provided stage decoration and masking drapes for many of the previous Eurovision shows over the years. The producers were looking for a supplier that could offer the most technically advanced soft goods and hardware at the right price. The fact that we develop new curtain fabrics and motion control systems ourselves makes it possible to tailor new products to a specific project for a truly one of a kind result.
With the dazzling reputation of the Eurovision Song Contest, we’re really looking forward to seeing the ShowTex curtain fabrics brought to life onstage.”
