The 5 Star Group will be exhibiting at PLASA Focus again this year showing a selection of its current products including flightcases and other solutions for the safe and convenient transportation of all types of equipment.
This year 5 Star will highlight its recently introduced Pro-Tect Bags & Covers.
Pro-Tect offers a range of standard and bespoke padded bags and covers. The products are manufactured in a separate new production unit based alongside 5 Star’s existing case manufacturing plant in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
Pro-Tect products are tough, hard-wearing and practical as well as a perfect complement to the vast range of case and trunk products offered by the 5 Star Group.
Also showcased at the exhibition will be a selection of examples of custom built flight cases, featuring the updated Industrial Rack range, a new general-purpose storage system utilising a number of versatile plastic crates … and a sample lighting fixture trunk.
The latest ‘Industrial Rack’ products are designed for professional lighting, sound and video applications and also to house telemetry and telecoms equipment for installations and mobile use.
The Industrial Rack range is currently available in variants of 4U to 20U – in increments of 2U – to offer full flexibility to users and specifiers. The rack shells are constructed from 9 mm birch ply with a high-pressure laminate (HPL) exterior, and like all 5 Star products, are built to rugged, high quality specifications and robust enough for the most exacting environments.
A production systems desk – flight-cased of course – will be displayed to illustrate 5 Star’s precision CNC machining capabilities.
The internal structure of texture-sprayed CNC machined plywood is the heart of the portable system and this can be designed to fit most types of equipment, including lighting and motor control desks, audio mixers, vision controllers and many more.
Recent investment in a wide-format digital printer enables 5 Star to produce full colour prints which are bonded directly to the case carcass. On display will be an example of this service, now in full use at the Cambridgeshire site. This facility is ideal for Point of Sale display cases, promotional and marketing and low volume product launch cases.
