Lighting, control and dimming manufacturer ETC is again showcasing the best of its products at its stand at ABTT this week.
In addition to showing the latest software versions of the company’s lighting control desk range, portable dimming from the Smart Solutions range and the award winning Selador series of LED fixtures will be available for demonstration.

Tom Littrell, ETC’s fixtures product manager, explains: “Since we launched Selador a year and a half ago, we’ve had a great response and have even made several improvements to the fixtures. For example, Vivid – now known as Vivid-R – produces 50% more light than before while consuming 10% less power. We have also added Vivid Fire and Vivid Ice, two fixtures which improve the red and blue palettes available to lighting designers. Fire burns with an impressive light intensity across the warm red-orange-yellow palette, while Ice offers brilliant, soulful shades of blue.
“Selador was designed to produce bright broad-spectrum whites and intense colours equally well, rendering pigments and skin tones in a far more natural way. By way of demonstration, we’ve set up a fabric board with a range of different colours and textures, proving how well Selador performs in a range of conditions.”

Also on show is ETC’s SmartModule 2, which is having its first major UK outing. SmartModule 2 brings portable, compact and affordable dimming solutions to any venue and can be wall mounted, hung on a pipe or placed on the floor. Museums, schools and small touring shows can now have professional quality dimming with a small price tag.
Designed as part of ETC’s Smart Solutions range of portable dimming and control, SmartModule 2 doesn’t require any complicated setup – just plug in and go! Available with either four or six 2.3kW dimmer modules as standard, both versions are available with CEE 16A, Schuko, NF (French) and UK15A sockets; the 6-dimmer module is also available with Socapex-type 6-circuit multi-pin outlets. The system offers remote control via DMX512A with Remote Device management (RDM), presets, local control capabilities and a choice of dimmer curves, as well as 20 pre-programmed chases for unattended operation. And because it’s convection cooled, SmartModule 2 operates completely silently. It goes perfectly with SmartBar 2, the next generation dimming bar that provides portable use without compromising your budget – ideal for anywhere requiring distributed dimming and position flexibility.

The latest control desks – including Eos, Congo and Element – will be on show, with product managers Sarah Clausen and Anne Valentino on hand both days of the exhibition to show visitors all the newest features. They and their colleagues will also be available to discuss how the desks work and to share tips and tricks with users, as well as talk about exciting new features on their way.
