New iPhone apps from West Side Systems

West Side Systems has announced the immediate availability of two new iPhone apps for entertainment professionals who deal with time. And really, who doesn’t?

Show Timer

Show Timer

Show Timer

Show Timer is a multi purpose timer designed for stage and event managers. It provides them with dual timers to count up and down simultaneously, and to automatically record all timings into a log which can be edited and emailed from within the app.

Show Timer is the only iPhone timer app that can show time remaining to a clock time such as the start of your show or a countdown timer for a defined duration, for example the time remaining until the end of an interval.

The two timers are independent and can be stopped, reset and started while the other is still running. The app will even continue to keep time if you receive a phone call or switch to another application.

The app costs £1.79 and is available from Apples App Store now.

Step Timer

Step Timer

Step Timer

Step Timer is for designers of sound, lighting, video and animation who need to craft cue sequences that synchronize with other actions. The stopwatch function tracks both intervals between steps in a sequence, and the elapsed time at each step. The tempo function displays beats per minute when you tap a display button, and more importantly the time per beat. Fractional seconds can be displayed in tenths, hundredths, or in frames for both the stopwatch and tempo functions.

The app will mark times to an accuracy of either 1/10th or 1/100th of a second and also has the option to record in frames per second for those using it for video and animation work.

The app costs 50p and is available from Apples App Store now.

Updates will also be released soon for three other apps: PowerCalc, DMXCalc, and BeamCalc. We should have reviews for all these new applications on the site in the next couple of weeks.
